Mentor agreement

Version 1 · in effect since Nov 8, 2026

This agreement governs the relationship between the person who joins the Donation Center Mentoring Programme as a mentor (the "Mentor") and Donation Center. The Mentoring Programme is a programme in which experienced people guide campaigns and ventures. You confirm this agreement before sending your application.

1. Nature of mentoring

  • Mentoring means accompanying a campaign or venture for a period: you show the way, share your experience and introduce them to new circles. Mentoring is not professional consulting, agency or the delivery of a piece of work.
  • The mentoring relationship is formed between you and the campaign or venture team receiving mentoring. Donation Center introduces you and provides the setting; you give the service, and Donation Center is an intermediary, not a party.
  • Decisions and results belong to the team receiving mentoring.

2. Independence

  • You are not an employee, representative or partner of Donation Center; no employment relationship arises between you.
  • You do not make promises or commitments on behalf of Donation Center; you have no authority to act on its behalf.
  • Donation Center does not supervise or endorse your views. Being accepted as a mentor is not an assurance of your competence.

3. Application and acceptance

  • Our team reviews your application; Donation Center has the right to accept or decline it.
  • You declare that the details in your application are accurate.
  • You apply with one account.

4. Conduct

  • You treat everyone with respect and equality; discrimination, harassment and threats are not accepted.
  • You do not ask the team you are matched with for fees, shares or any other benefit outside the programme in the name of mentoring.
  • You follow local law and the rules of Donation Center.

5. Conflicts of interest

If you hold a stake in, are related to or have a commercial relationship with a campaign you are to be matched with, you tell Donation Center and the team before the match. If you wish to invest in the campaign or raise donations or investment for it, you also tell us beforehand.

6. What mentoring does not cover

  • You do not give investment, legal, financial or tax advice. You do not recommend that anyone invest in, or give shares of, a campaign or venture.
  • You do not raise donations or investment, take money for that purpose or act as an intermediary.
  • If you practise a licensed profession (such as law or accountancy), you accept that you are not practising it in this role.

7. Confidentiality

You keep the campaign, venture and personal information shared by the team you are matched with confidential and use it only for mentoring. This obligation continues after this agreement ends.

8. Intellectual property

The team's ideas, content and products stay with the team; you claim no rights over them. Your own general knowledge, experience and materials stay with you.

9. Fees and payment terms

  • Mentoring is a paid service. The service packages, their scope and prices are set out in a separate annex (the current fee and payment terms) that governs the fees and payment of mentoring; the annex is shown to you before mentoring begins and your consent is obtained.
  • The team receiving mentoring sees the scope and price of the package before paying. The amount paid to the mentor, Donation Center's commission and the time of payment are written clearly in the annex.
  • Payment is made through Donation Center. Your tax and invoicing obligations are your own.

10. Visibility

Your name, photo, areas of expertise and short introduction may be shown on the site's mentor pages. You can withdraw this permission at any time.

11. Personal data

The details you share in your application and in mentoring are processed to review your application, make matches and run the programme. The details are in the Privacy Notice; you can send us deletion and correction requests.

12. Responsibility

  • The team receiving mentoring is responsible for the outcome of the views you give; Donation Center does not guarantee the accuracy of views or the success of a campaign.
  • You are responsible for your dealings with the people you are matched with.

13. Ending

You can leave the programme at any time; you close ongoing matches properly by telling the team. Donation Center may suspend or end your membership if you breach this agreement or for another justified reason.

14. Changes

If this agreement changes, a new version is published and put to you for confirmation again before you continue.
