When taking daily medication, giving vitamins or syrups to children, choosing personal care items, or reading packaged food labels, millions of people face the same critical question: Is this ingredient derived from animal, plant, or synthetic sources, and how was it processed? Because labels rarely show more than chemical names or E-codes, consumers with halal, kosher, vegan, organic, or health sensitivities are often left without clear answers.
Conducted within the HalalVera Knowledge Base, this open research programme examines pharmaceutical excipients (such as gelatin, glycerin, magnesium stearate, enzymes, and alcohol solvents), dietary supplements, cosmetic ingredients, and food additives across multiple verifiable sources. Instead of unverified claims, we document pharmacopeia data, manufacturer technical declarations, scientific literature, and the positions of international halal (HAK, JAKIM, BPJPH, OIC/SMIIC, IFANCA, HMC, GİMDES), kosher, vegan, and organic standards side by side.
This campaign forms the ingredient and additive pillar of HalalVera’s thematic open research series (while other everyday health topics such as cookware materials and water quality are organized as separate research campaigns).
