Investment and lending risk disclosure

This disclosure applies to anyone who backs a campaign on Donation Center that raises funds in exchange for shares, a revenue share, a community investment or debt. It is accepted when you back such a campaign. Please read it carefully.

1. You could lose all your money

Investing in early-stage ventures and projects is high risk. The venture may fail and you could lose all the money you invest. Do not invest money you cannot afford to lose.

2. Returns are not guaranteed

The targets, forecasts and expected returns on the campaign page are the Campaign Owner's statements; Donation Center does not verify or guarantee them. Past performance is not a guide to future results.

3. No liquidity

It is often impossible, or may take a long time, to sell the shares or claims you acquire. You may not be able to get your money back for a long period.

4. Your stake may be diluted

If the venture raises new investment in the future, your percentage holding may decrease.

5. Lending risk

If you backed in exchange for debt, the borrower may fail to pay or may pay late. A loan is not a bank deposit and is not covered by any deposit guarantee scheme.

6. Information and rights

• The terms of the investment (share percentage, revenue share, interest, term, voting and information rights) are set out in the campaign documents and in the agreement between you and the Campaign Owner. Read them before you give your support.
• Donation Center is not an investment adviser and does not give you investment advice. Consult an independent adviser if needed.

7. Eligibility

The law of your country may limit participation in such investments (such as investor type, annual investment limits or reporting obligations). Complying with these limits is your responsibility; you may be asked to verify this information.

8. You confirm you understand the risks

By accepting this disclosure, you confirm that you have read and understood the risks above and that you make your investment decision based on your own assessment.
