Volunteer agreement

This agreement governs the relationship between the person who joins the Donation Center Volunteer Network (the "Volunteer") and Donation Center. The Volunteer Network is a network of volunteers who support campaigns where they live or from a distance. You confirm this agreement before sending your application.

1. Nature of volunteering

• Volunteering is voluntary and unpaid; you give your time and effort of your own will, around your free time. There is no minimum time or schedule.
• Volunteering does not create a job, employment, agency or representation relationship.
• You can leave the network at any time. Donation Center may also end your membership if you breach this agreement or for another justified reason.

2. What you can do

• Where you live, you can carry out site visits and observation, support events and field days, act as local organization and community liaison, or give expert opinion.
• If you wish, you can advise campaigns free of charge; on some campaigns you may also be appointed campaign observer from a distance.
• You choose the areas you want to contribute to when you apply; appointments are made on the suggestion of the Donation Center team.

3. Principles

• Report what you see as it is. Your observation notes and opinions must be accurate, impartial and based on your own experience.
• Respect personal information. Do not share details of the people you visit or know without their permission.
• Declare conflicts of interest. If a campaign belongs to a relative or a partner of yours, tell the team before giving an opinion on it.
• Do not make promises on behalf of Donation Center. Do not commit Donation Center to campaign owners or third parties; you have no authority to act on its behalf.
• Join with one account. Do not apply with several accounts.
• Follow local law and the rules of Donation Center; do not share confidential information about the network.

4. Content you share

• You allow us to use the notes, opinions and observations you share in your application and tasks when reviewing campaigns and running Donation Center.
• You declare that you hold the rights you need over the content you share.
• Your observation note or opinion is not a guarantee of a campaign's accuracy or success.

5. Thank-you reward

• Volunteers accepted into the network may receive a reward under the site's reward program as a thank-you. This reward is not a fee or a wage.
• The reward is given once per person. The opening time of the program and the type, amount and conditions of the reward may change; rewards are added to your account when the program opens.
• The reward is cancelled for applications made with several accounts or against the rules.

6. Personal data

The details you share in your application and tasks (the name, e-mail, location and languages on your profile, the areas you chose and your note) are processed to review your application and to run the network. The details are in the Privacy Notice.

7. Responsibility

• You are responsible for your own safety and expenses during site visits and events, and for your dealings with the people you meet.
• Donation Center is not responsible for the decisions and actions of Volunteers.

8. Changes

If this agreement changes, a new version is published and put to you for confirmation again before you continue.
